Chris has nearly two decades of leadership experience in NGO and cross-cultural community development work across Africa, Europe, and Asia, including eight years as part of a community development project in the jungles of West Kalimantan.
“Much of that work happened inside small, under-resourced leadership teams, where the person keeping the books was often also raising the funds and running the field program, and where one founder's burnout could put the whole mission at risk. That shaped a particular focus in my work now: local leadership development, meaning international collaboration that is fully led from within, by leaders of the host culture itself, not run by outsiders. Today I help NGO and community development leaders build teams and systems sturdy enough to carry the work long after any one founder's energy runs out.”
Crispy Development was founded in 2020 to bring those field-tested leadership principles to cross-cultural teams around the globe.
Married, four children, currently calling Penang, Malaysia their home.
